AOUBT ME
Jiaxin Quan is an illustrator whose practice centres on image-based storytelling developed across printmaking, collage, textile and mixed media. Rather than being limited to a single material, her work uses different media to create distinct emotional atmospheres and narrative experiences, while maintaining a consistent visual language.
Her artistic background bridges two educational traditions in China and the United Kingdom. She first trained in printmaking in China, where she developed a strong foundation in image structure and traditional craft techniques. She later completed a Master’s degree in Children’s Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art, where she further developed a narrative-driven visual language. This cross-cultural educational experience enables her to connect Eastern visual sensibilities with contemporary international illustration practices and to develop a distinctive artistic voice.
Her work has received international recognition including Winner of the Communication Arts Illustration Competition, Merit at the ADC Annual Awards, Merit at the iJungle Illustration Awards, and Honorable Mention at the 3x3 Illustration Annual, demonstrating her growing recognition within the international illustration field.
With her artistic education in the UK, experience in children’s book publishing, and continued interest in traditional culture and material experimentation, Jiaxin Quan is developing an illustration practice that can contribute to children’s books, cross-cultural visual storytelling, and image-based projects within the UK’s illustration and publishing landscape.
